ARTEFACT ORIGIN: Hartlepool, UK

MATERIALS: Victorian/Edwardian glass medicine or poison bottle.

DIMENSIONS: Hoop is 2.7cm wide, glass is 2.3cm at widest point. 20" chain.

HISTORY: This pendant features a piece of rare cobalt glass from an old poison or medicine bottle.

The raised embossing and vivid colour made it easy to distinguish from liquids that were safe to drink.

Discarded over a century ago, this fragment has been shaped by the tide for decades.

CRAFTSMANSHIP: The vivid blue glass is set in a custom made fine-silver bezel, framed by a hand-textured sterling-silver hoop.

Silver under 7.78g (excluding detachable chains and stones) is not legally required to be hallmarked in the UK.
